Notepad scribbles 20191103

Have to say, that I am still loving my new camera.

I had been a little skeptical of the Sony cameras in the early years, with reliance on proprietary memory sticks and limited functions but they have come such a long way to delivering very good products which are ahead of the competition.  Also, I feel that they have listened to consumers want, rather than just what they want and trying to control everything.
I recall having a Sony Palm Pilot Clie, back in the day, thinking that it will help make my life more organised - no it did not.  Unfortunately you had to be organised when putting data into the palm pilot, so old habits died hard.  Ha - oh well.  But the frustration was the Memory Sticks which also kept changing - Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro Duo, etc.  The list went on and it also made it difficult with other devices like a PSP with yet another format and limited capacity when compared with peers.   So frustrating.  I did try their Sony phone - which was actually ok, but the propitiatory cables also made it frustrating (like Apple initially).

But things change over time.  The ability to charge via USB, the long battery life and the amazing eye autofocus, have definitely made it a very good and easy choice - bringing a lot of changes - good to see that level of innovation in the cameras.  Not to mention video, which is something I do want to explore, but does sound like I need a new computer to handle the larger file sizes.

In other news, had to move again, but at least this time, it has been more convenient in terms of location.  Work is a shorter ride in and shops around is also good, being a level walk rather than uphill.  It has been a bit of a hassle to arrange that again, the new place having less inbuilt storage options so has been a bit of a tradeoff.  I guess hill walks have really helped with fitness but just harder on the body with groceries!  However, the new place has forced a little bit more of cleaning up as well, - rationalising some of the hoarding I do.  Still need to cull a few more things, but at least it leaves a place which is nicer and more minimalist than before.  My glasses broke so I am unlikely to replace and more likely to use another one I have already "bought ahead" when there were sales on.
This has started to make me think of the things we truly need.  Is it better to have one really good thing or multiples of variety.  I fall more into the latter in some things but now do appreciate what an absolute hoarder I truly am having seen everything on display. So, the cleaning up will still continue I suppose - back to it!
